Design Frontiers Workshop Series

User Experience Design

1 session, 8 hours
March 29 (9:30am to 6:00 pm)

Cost: $300, discount for Berkeley Alumni and staff $250, discount for current Berkeley Students $200

Output: UX Design Portfolio Artifacts

Prerequisite: none

Want to design an application or website that makes sense to your users? The moment a user visits a website or opens an app, they are engaging in a user experience. The quality of that experience has a huge impact on that user’s journey. Designing a great user experience can lead to satisfaction and product loyalty.

This will be a highly interactive and collaborative workshop covering User Experience Design. UX Design is prominent in the creation of any product, including websites and mobile applications. You’ll be introduced to the principles and process of UX Design. This workshop will include brainstorming sessions, design prototyping, visual design trends, and user testing. You’ll work on group projects developing a product right from the outset through several deliverables to a final design.

We’ll start right on time, have lunch a little after 12pm, and wrap up at 6 pm. (Lunch is included). Please make sure you stay till the very end (6 pm) because you’ll be working on group projects throughout.

There are no prerequisites for this workshop, and a computer is not needed. You will not be learning software tools, but rather principles, methodologies, and process. Come with an open mind, and we’ll teach you what you need to know to get started with UX Design!
